           About Us
The Binghamton Aeros were founded on Sept. 18, 1985 by nine like minded R/C pilots. The common interest was the building and flying of giant scale R/C aircraft.

Today, giant scale remains popular at our club. Owning and flying giant scale aircraft is not required to be a member of the Binghamton Aeros. Our members build and fly all sizes and types of aircraft from micros to turbine jets. It's all about having Fun and enjoying the hobby.

Safety and friendship with other R/C modelers is part of who we are as a club. We are members of and charted by the Academy of Model Aeronautics(AMA) .

We fly regularly at the Chenango Bridge Airport. If the weather is nice, we are usually flying. If you are curious to see what the hobby is all about, come on by the field and check it out. Our members are always willing to answer your questions. If you would like to learn how to fly, we have a free training program. See the Want to Join and Our Field pages for an interactive map and more information.

Our membership meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 7pm. See the Events page for the location as it changes based on the season.

Our major flying event for the year is our annual Giant Scale Fun Fly, now called the Aeros' Festival of Giants. It is one of the largest Giant Scale flying events in the Northeast. See the Events page for more info.
